NoVex Trade

NoVex Trade is a corporation that publishes financial literacy courses for people starting out in the skilled trades. These Terms of Service are the agreement between NoVex Trade and you. They cover novextrade.com, the NoVex Trade application, and the course material inside it. Read them before you make an account. Making an account, buying a plan, or using the service in any other way means you accept them. If any part of them does not suit you, do not use the service.

We, us and our mean NoVex Trade. You, your and member mean the person using the service under an account.

2. What This Is, and What It Is Not

NoVex Trade teaches money to people who have just started earning it in a trade. What the lines on a first paycheck mean and where that money went. What gets taken out before you ever see it. What to do with what is left. What changes the first time a side job pays you without withholding anything.

It is a course. It is not investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice or benefits advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, to pick any retirement option, or to take any position on a tax return. We are not a registered investment adviser, a broker dealer, a tax preparer, a law firm, a credit counsellor or a benefits administrator, and nothing in the service or in these Terms makes us your fiduciary, your adviser or your attorney.

The material is general. It is written for someone early in a trade, not for your employer, your local, your agreement or your state, and it may not match any of them. Every figure the service shows you is worked out from numbers you typed in yourself. Those figures are teaching aids. They are not tax filings, not plan statements, and not proof of anything. Before you decide something real about money, taxes, retirement or benefits, talk to a qualified professional, to your plan administrator, or to your local.

3. How the Course Works

The material is published as Courses. Each Course covers one money subject and is made up of short Lessons. A Course closes with a Check, a brief confirmation that the subject actually landed. Finishing Checks moves you from Apprentice to Journeyman and then to Master.

Tier records what you have finished inside our course and nothing more. It is not a licence, a certification, a credential, a continuing education credit or a qualification recognised by any employer, union, school, board or authority, and we never present it as one.

Depending on your plan the service may also include a ledger for logging side work, a reader that helps you find wage, per diem and travel provisions in an agreement or offer letter you upload, and live group Workshop sessions with a financial educator. Workshop sessions are general education delivered to a group. Nothing said in one is personal advice to you.

You type your own numbers in by hand, off your own pay documents. The service does not connect to, log in to, or read from any bank, payroll, retirement, brokerage, card or tax account, and it will never ask you for the credentials to one. If something claiming to be NoVex Trade asks you to link or sign in to a financial account, it is not us, and we would like to hear about it at the address in section 16.

4. Membership and Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to hold an account and at least 18 to buy a paid plan or enter into any agreement with us. A member aged 13 to 17 may use the service only through an account opened and paid for by a parent, guardian, employer, union or training institution, and that adult or organisation carries responsibility for it.

A seat belongs to one named person. Do not share an account, sell access to it, or let someone else complete your Checks. What happens under your credentials is your responsibility, so keep them to yourself and tell us quickly if you think somebody else has them.

5. Plans, Payment, Renewal and Cancellation

The service is sold on these plans:

Apprentice. Free of charge, no payment method required.
Journeyman. $9 per month, or $69 per year.
Master. $149 per year.
Crew. $12 per seat per year, twenty seat minimum, for an organisation buying seats for a group.

A paid plan renews on its own at the end of each billing period, at the rate then current for that plan, charged to the payment method on file, until you cancel. Cancel whenever you like from the billing area of your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not cut short the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund part of a period you cancel partway through. Any refund beyond that is at our discretion and goes back to the method that was charged.

Prices can change. Where a change would hit one of your renewals we will tell you before that renewal happens so you can cancel first. If a payment fails we may retry it, and we may pause a paid plan until it clears.

6. Crew Plans and Organisations Buying Seats

A local, a joint apprenticeship and training committee, a trade school, a contractor or an employer can buy seats for named learners. Where a signed ordering document, purchase order or invoice exists between us and that organisation, it sets the commercial terms for those seats, and these Terms continue to govern how each learner uses the service.

An organisation that bought your seat can see which Courses and Checks you have finished and the tier you have reached. That is all it can see. It cannot see any dollar figure you entered, any ledger entry, any document you uploaded, or anything at all about your own pay. We do not show that to a sponsoring organisation, and we do not sell it to one.

7. Your Numbers, Your Documents, Your Work

What you put in stays yours. Your figures, notes, ledger entries and any pay document, offer letter or agreement you upload remain your property. You give us only the narrow licence we need to run the service: to store that material, process it, and show it back to you, and to no one else except as the Privacy Policy describes.

Do not upload a document belonging to someone else without their permission, and do not upload anything you are not allowed to share. You can delete your material from your account, or ask us to delete it, as the Privacy Policy explains.

8. Rules of Use

While you are using the service, do not:

Copy, republish, resell, post publicly or otherwise hand around Course or Lesson content, Check questions or Check answers.
Scrape, crawl, mirror or bulk download any part of the service by automated means.
Get around Check gating, trade answers, or pass someone else's finished work off as yours.
Upload unlawful material, malware, or content belonging to a person who has not allowed it.
Probe, load test, disrupt or try to reach any part of the service or any other member's account without authorisation.
Record, rebroadcast or resell a Workshop session, or use one to solicit other members.
Present anything from the service as financial, tax or legal advice coming from us.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and remove material that does. Where it is reasonable we will say so first.

9. Our Material, and Your Licence to Use It

The Courses, Lessons, Checks, text, artwork, interface, software, the NoVex Trade name and the marks in the service belong to NoVex Trade or to whoever licensed them to us, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other law. So long as you keep to these Terms and pay what your plan costs, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable licence, neither exclusive nor transferable, to use the service for your own education. An organisation on a Crew plan gets the same licence for the seats it bought. Every right not granted here stays with us.

10. SMS Messaging – Promotional Marketing Only

Program Description

By providing your mobile telephone number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated promotional and marketing text messages from NoVex Trade, sent to the mobile number you provided. These messages may include offers, discounts, new course releases, seasonal pricing and other marketing content. Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Verizon Wireless, US Cellular, Google Voice, Cellular One, Cellcom, Cellular South, Interop and Clearsky. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Tell us if you give up or change the mobile number on your account. By giving us a number you confirm you are its subscriber, or its usual user with authority to opt it in.

11. Third Party Providers and Outside Sources

We use other companies to take payments, host the service, deliver messages and email, and measure how the service gets used. What they do with information is governed by their own terms, not ours. Reference material about deductions, plan types, tax treatment and wage provisions comes from public sources and from documents members give us. We do not promise any outside source is current, complete, or applicable to your situation.

12. No Warranties

The service is provided as it is and as it happens to be available. To the fullest extent the law allows we disclaim every warranty, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement, and any promise that the service will run uninterrupted or free of error, or that its content is accurate, complete or right for your circumstances. Any financial, tax, benefits or employment outcome you end up with is yours, not ours.

13. Limit of Our Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, NoVex Trade and its officers, directors, employees and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost savings, lost data, or any financial, tax or employment loss, arising out of the service or your inability to use it, even after being told such damages were possible. Our total liability for all claims about the service will not exceed the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred United States dollars.

14. Governing Law, and Changes to These Terms

Texas law governs these Terms and any dispute about them or the service, without regard to conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts sitting in Dallas County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction and you consent to venue there. Nothing here takes away any right you have to bring a matter to a small claims court or a government agency.

We revise these Terms as the service changes. The current version always sits here, and where a change is material we will give notice inside the service, or by email or text to the details on your account. Using the service after a revision takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, cancel your plan and stop using the service.
