Lesson
Gross vs Net in Plain English

Gross is the top
Gross is what you earned before anything came out. It is the number people quote when they talk about the job rate, not what hits your account.
Net is what lands
Net is take-home after taxes, benefits, dues, and other deductions. Plan rent and groceries from net, not from the hourly story.
Why the gap feels huge
First-year stubs stack FICA, withholding, and often union or benefit lines. The gap is normal. Learning each line shrinks the shock.
Use both numbers
Track gross to check hours and rates. Track net to run your week. NoVex Trade teaches both so you stop guessing which one to trust.
"Quote the rate. Live on the deposit."
